Vadim Yemelyanov


Vadim Mikhaylovich Yemelyanov ((ロシア語:Вади́м Миха́йлович Емелья́нов)) (25 April 1942 – 27 May 1977) was a boxer from the Soviet Union.
Yemelianov was born in Krasnodar Krai in southern Russia, He graduated from the Kazan Suvorov Military school and served as a physical training instructor in the Soviet Army. Yemilanov started boxing at the age of 16.
He competed for the Soviet Union in the 1964 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan in the heavyweight event where he finished in third place behind future heavyweight champion of the world and gold medalist, the legendary, Joe Frazier.
Yemelyanov fought in 158 bouts with 141 victories. He fought in 24 international bouts with 19 victories
